Questions we get asked

My NBN isn't working. Should I call you or my internet provider?

Call your internet provider first to rule out an outage or an account problem. If they say the network is fine, the fault is usually in the cabling or wall sockets inside your home or office. That's where we come in: we trace the fault, fix it and test it before we leave.

How much does it cost?

Every job is different, so we give you the price before any work starts: over the phone for straightforward jobs, or after a quick look on site. No surprises on the invoice.

Do I need a licensed cabler for data cabling in Australia?

Yes. Under ACMA rules, any cabling that connects to the telecommunications network, including NBN and phone lines, must be done by a registered cabler. That covers Cat6 outlets, NBN relocations and fibre work.

Can you move my NBN box to another room?

Yes. We relocate NTDs, NCDs and HFC connection boxes for all fixed-line technologies, and re-run the lead-in or internal cabling as needed.

Wi-Fi is slow at one end of the house. Is it the cabling or the router?

We test the speed at the modem first, then at the problem spot. A wired Cat6 point for a second access point usually fixes it for good, and costs less than most people expect.

Cat6 or Cat6A?

Cat6 is suitable for most residential and many commercial Ethernet installations, including 1 Gbps networks and higher-speed applications over appropriate distances and equipment. Cat6A is the step up for longer 10 Gbps runs and for new builds and offices that want headroom. We recommend based on the building.
